Carbonin design, labes and bodywork for Melissa Paris on Yamaha R-6 - 03.10.2011
Carbonin provided attractive design, labels and bodywork for Yamaha R-6, driven by AMA star Melissa Paris. She today completed a successful shakedown test of the MotoDex Performance First Yamaha she will campaign in this weekend’s British Supersport Cup races at the Brands Hatch MCE British Superbike finale.
Paris, who flew in on Friday to have time to get rid of jetlag, spent the day lapping at Donington Park, using two groups on a trackday in order to familiarise herself with a bike that has upwards of 30bhp more than the Superstock-spec R6 she races in Daytona Sportbike.
“Donington is awesome, it’s pretty different to anything we have in the US, really fast and flowing, the elevation changes are a lot of fun. The bike is just phenomenal. It’s a different spec to what we run in Daytona Sportbike and it’s exciting to get to ride something that is so fast and works well right off the bat,” said Paris.
“I have watched as much Brands Hatch footage as I can find on YouTube and I can see it is going to be a little tricky to ride one configuration on Friday and a different one on Saturday but we will roll with it and just do some fast learning.
“We will make the best job of it we can. Everyone has said I will like it because it is a fast circuit and I like that. Some of the tracks in the US are a little tight and twisty but the ones I do best at over there are more of a European style. It will be a good weekend I thanks to everyone involved in getting me here. I am so looking forward to racing in the UK and against some really fast people.”

2.nd and 3.rd place in WSBK Supersport Nurburgring - 04.09.2011
Carbonin partner Bogdanka PTR Honda with James Ellison took his first World Supersport podium of the season, finishing a close second after a race long battle for victory at the Nurburgring in Germany and moving up to eighth in the overall standings. More.
His teammate Pawel Szkopek made a great start to pass five riders on the opening lap before eventually crashing out of the race with four laps to go. The Polish rider was taken to the hospital to undergo medical checks after hitting a kerb with his chest.
Another succes was made by Parkalgar Honda driver Sam Lowes (also Carbonin partner) who rode through the pain barrier to take a brilliant podium third place at the ninth round of the World Supersport Championship at the Nurburgring in Germany, giving the PARKALGAR HONDA team a double podium. Sam’s teammate Miguel Praia was comfortable in 11th mid-race when his handlebar moved and combined with brake fade forced him to retire. Parkalgar was also second on the podium with James Ellison on the sister Bogdanka PTR bike.
James Ellison: “I dropped from the lead to sixth at one point but the bike was working really well and I managed to catch Chaz up and pull away with him. I tried everything to pass him but he was really strong on the brakes. However, I’m very happy with the podium. We knew even before the season started what we’re capable of and it’s great to make it happen. The team made some great setup changes over the summer break and I’ve managed to adjust my style a bit to suit it. It’s what you call team work.”
Sam: “I want to apologise to the Parkalgar Honda team for the three crashes I had yesterday. I put them through a lot of work and harmed my own chances of winning by injuring myself. In the race the first five laps were like dying again I felt so bad. Then as the race wore on my injured foot got worse, making changing gear very difficult. I have learnt a lot in the race and everything is alright; it is good to get back on the podium. I am very happy for my team-mate James to get second. Now it is on to the next race and to keep learning and progressing.”
Miguel: “The race started alright and I settled just behind the group for sixth. I lost some time on the first laps as there was not enough temperature in my rear tyre but I thought I could make the gap back after half distance. Then mid race the handlebar moved and it meant changing direction was very difficult and I was losing big time and my pace was going slower, I couldn’t do much. I tried to ride round it but then my front brake started to fade and I decided to pull in as I didn’t want to risk a crash. We know we have a good bike and pace, now I have three races left to get my best result this year.”

set for pole in the final minutes of qualifying before a slower rider blocked him in the last turn. In the race, there was to be no Hollywood ending for Day as despite posting the fastest lap of the race in the final minutes, he was just not close enough to attempt a pass – crossing the line in second place and 0.2 sec behind the Italian rider. Congratulations.
